The art of the Northwest American Indian tribes has been an inspiration to me. The use of red, white and black speaks volumes when used on the motifs which have been gleaned from our rich surroundings. I’ve used these basic colors with the highlight from the “button blankets” of the Haida of tiny buttons and explored Jewish symbols to “invent” a button blanket for myself.
